Glossop
Rotary Club have helped kick start the Glossop Vision regeneration
programme in Glossop Town centre with a generous donation
towards the refurbishment of the furniture in Norfolk Square.
Glossop
Rotary Club are currently celebrating their centenary year
and as part of the celebrations the club wanted to donate
something to the people of Glossop. Glossop Rotarians decided
that the improvements planned as part of the Glossop Vision
programme would be the perfect opportunity to make a lasting
contribution to the town and after viewing the plans for
improvements across Glossop the Rotary opted to help fund
the repainting of the furniture in Norfolk Square.

The
Glossop Vision programme will see a wide range of improvements
taking place across Glossop in the coming months as the
projects identified in the Glossop Vision Masterplan begin
to get underway. The development of the Master Plan is a
key feature of the Liveability project in Glossop. The plan
will guide future development and management of the town.
It identifies key areas where improvements to the public
realm would make a real difference and puts forward proposals
for their improvement to be implemented over a 15 year-
period.
A
number of these projects have been identified for implementation
as part of the phase one delivery programme due to commence
later this year. These projects will see improvements taking
place in Manor Park, Harehills and the Town Centre.
With
the new paint work almost completed at Norfolk Square. Glossop
Rotary Club President (2004/5) Terry Bond is delighted with
the results "We are delighted to be able to celebrate
our centenary Year working in partnership with Glossop Vision.
The improvements to Norfolk Square are only the start of
what promises to be an exciting period of investment and
improvements across Glossop and we are only too happy to
be able to be a part of it" ."

John
Hart, Chair of the Glossop Vision Board said" We would
like to thank Glossop Rotary for their generous contribution
to the Glossop Vision Regeneration programme. It seemed
fitting to kick start the scheme with improvements to Norfolk
Square as it represents an icon in the town centre and is
a popular spot for residents, workers and visitors alike
and the generosity of Glossop Rotarians has helped make
this possible. We are now looking forward to seeing the
other Glossop Vision improvements begin to take shape.
