President
Joan Burgess
Joan has served the club as both President
and Treasurer on previous occasions and we are very pleased
that she has agreed to take on the roll of President once
again.
She is married to Rotarian John and has two daughters. Although
officially retired, Joan works on a voluntary basis for
A.S.F.C as a teaching assistant. This involves the ladies
of the Indian community centre in Ashton-under-Lyne who
wish to learn and improve their reading and writing of English
skills. She finds her involvement with E.S.O.L students
particularly rewarding. Over the past few years she has
improved her Computing skills and is an occasional “Computer
Buddy” for Tameside MBC.
Some of her other interests include, walking, gardening
and travelling. She is keen that the Glossop Club continues
to enjoy the friendship among its members, other I.W. clubs
and that the close involvement with the local Rotary club
remains constant

The
Inner Wheel Club of Glossop was presented with its Charter
in 1949. We currently have a very active membership of 21
members.
We enjoy a particularly close relationship with the Rotary
Club of Glossop – each club being very supportive
of each others activities, whether of a fund raising or
social nature.
